What time does Aries season start in your time zone?
The Sun enters Aries at one single moment for the whole planet. Your local clock decides the date you see.
That is why some calendars say March 20 and others say March 21. Both are right. In Los Angeles, New York, London and Berlin it is still March 20; in Mumbai and Sydney it is already March 21.
Aries season dates for 2027, 2028 and 2029
- 2027: March 20, 2027 at 20:24 UTC until April 20, 2027 at 07:17 UTC
- 2028: March 20, 2028 at 02:17 UTC until April 19, 2028 at 13:09 UTC
- 2029: March 20, 2029 at 08:01 UTC until April 19, 2029 at 18:55 UTC
The moment shifts by several hours from year to year, because a calendar year of 365 days is slightly shorter than the time the Sun needs to return to the same point. Leap years pull it back.
What Aries season means
When the Sun crosses into Aries at the March equinox, day and night stand level for a moment, and then, in the north, the light begins to win. Each of us feels the same small push under the ribs, the sense that something wants to begin. This season does not wait to be invited. It arrives like a match struck in a dark room.
Aries is the sign that moves first. For one month the whole zodiac leans into its question: what are we still waiting for? We hear it in the plans we have rehearsed for years, in the thing we keep saying we will do when conditions are right, in the courage we keep lending to other people.
For you it usually comes down to one first step. Often it is the one you have prepared so thoroughly that preparing has become the reason not to take it. You know the arguments by heart. You could list every risk in your sleep. Some part of you already knows which one.
Mars rules Aries as well as Scorpio, the planet of action, desire and the force that moves against resistance, so this season hands every sign a little more nerve. We are allowed to want something out loud this month. We are allowed to compete, to defend what matters, to say no without a paragraph of apology. The sky leans toward courage, and courage is rarely a feeling first; it is usually a step taken before the feeling arrives. It was never wrong to go first.
Many of us feel it in the body first. The legs get restless at the desk. Heat rises in the chest in a meeting where we held back one sentence too long. Mornings wake us earlier, and a fast walk does more for a crowded head than an hour of thinking. We lean toward movement the way a flame leans toward open air, part of the weave that has always started with a spark.
We meet this fire sign as ignition: the idea that arrives already lit, the yes that comes before the reasons. Fire catches fast, and it needs a body and a second day to become something that lasts. It is also cardinal, a sign that opens new phases, so the season is brilliant at starting and leaves the staying power to you. If Aries is your Rising sign, you feel all of this in the first person, in your pace, your directness, the way you walk into a room already halfway across it. For everyone else it lands in one particular part of life, and the table below shows which.
Astrology begins its year here, and so, quietly, do many of us. We are all under the same kindling sky this month, each carrying one small beginning toward the light. May yours catch. You were never meant to start it alone.
What actually changes
The shift speaks through texture rather than drama:
- A plan you have discussed for a year suddenly wants a first date on the calendar
- You lose patience with meetings that end without a decision
- Someone asks what you want and, for once, you answer before you soften it
- You start something small on impulse and are surprised how alive it feels
None of that is a crisis. It is the weather changing rooms, and noticing early is the whole advantage.
What is in the sky during Aries season 2027
- March 22: Full Moon in Libra
- April 1: Mars turns direct at 20° Leo
- April 6: New Moon in Aries
- April 13: Jupiter turns direct at 16° Leo
Each of these dates is calculated, not estimated. A New Moon or Full Moon inside Aries season adds its own note to the month; a planet turning retrograde or direct marks a change of pace in the part of life that planet describes.
How Aries season affects each sign
The season lights a different house for every sign. Read the row for your Rising sign first, then for your Sun sign.
Counted from your Sun sign, the table is the classic horoscope reading. Counted from your Rising sign, it gives the whole-sign house, which is the more personal of the two. For example, with Libra rising, Aries season moves through your 7th house of partnership.
Which row is really yours? Your Rising sign changes roughly every two hours on the day you were born, so it needs your birth time. Find your Sun, Moon and Rising for free, then come back to the table. To see every planet in your chart and the exact house each one sits in, that is the complete birth chart reading.
How to use 30 days of it
- Name the first step you keep preparing for. Not the whole plan. Just the step.
- Take it within three days, before the arguments catch up. Aries season favours the first move far more than the perfect one.
- Decide what will carry it on day two: a date in the calendar, a friend who asks, a small routine. Fire starts things; something steady keeps them burning.
Put the exit date in your calendar: April 20, 2027. After that, Taurus season begins.
Before and after Aries season
Pisces season comes before Aries season and ends the moment Aries season begins. Taurus season follows on April 20, 2027. Together the twelve seasons make one full circuit of the Sun through the zodiac each year.
Your season begins on the same day as everyone else's, but where it strikes is yours alone. For one person it lights a career move that has waited too long, for another a body that wants to move again, for another a relationship that needs one brave sentence. You share the sky with all of us; the door it opens belongs to your chart. Some part of you has always known which door that is.
Your complete birth chart shows it to you: all ten planets across twelve houses, set by your exact birth time and resolved birthplace, with the aspects your chart supports and a personalized audio walkthrough. You read it once, and the push of this season stops being a restless mood and becomes a beginning in your own story, written in the sky on the day you arrived.

Is it Aries season right now?

Both, depending on where you are. The Sun enters Aries at 20:24 UTC on March 20, 2027. In Los Angeles, New York, London and Berlin it is still March 20; in Mumbai and Sydney it is already March 21.
Why do the Aries season dates change every year?
The Sun reaches 0° Aries at a slightly different moment each year, because the calendar year and the solar year are not exactly the same length. The difference adds up by several hours a year and leap years pull it back. That is why sources disagree by a day.
What planet rules Aries season?
Mars. In the traditional scheme Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio, so this is Mars's own season: a month in which action, desire and the nerve to move against resistance are close to the surface, which is not the same as a promise that every fight is worth having or goes well.
What does Aries season mean?
It is the month the Sun spends in the sign of beginnings: initiative, speed, courage and a direct line toward what you want. It opens at the March equinox, and for about 30 days that manner colours the sky for everyone, tending to bring one postponed first step into view.
Does Aries season affect everyone or only people born under Aries?
Everyone. The Sun moves through Aries for every chart at once. What differs is which area of your life it lights, and that depends on where Aries falls in your chart, which your Rising sign decides.
How does Aries season affect each sign?
It lights a different house for each sign: counted from Aries it falls in the 1st house, from Pisces in the 2nd, from Aries itself in the 1st. The table above shows all twelve with what each house holds. Read it for your Rising sign as well as your Sun sign.
Which house is Aries season in for me?
Count from your Rising sign: the sign on your Ascendant is your 1st house in whole-sign houses, and Aries falls in the house shown in the table. Without a birth time, the Sun-sign row gives the classic horoscope reading, which is rougher. Your complete birth chart shows the exact house.
What does Aries season mean for people born under Aries?
It is birthday season. Each year the Sun returns to the exact position it held when you were born, the moment astrologers call the solar return, and the house the Sun occupies in that return chart names the focus of your coming year.
I was born on the first or last day of Aries season. Which sign am I?
There is no cusp sign. You are the sign the Sun was in at the exact moment of your birth, and the switch happens at a different time every year. Enter your birth date, time and place in the free Big 3 calculator and it gives your Sun sign exactly.
Is Aries season connected to the March equinox?
Yes. In the tropical zodiac the Sun enters Aries at the March equinox. In the Southern Hemisphere the same moment starts autumn, but the zodiac sign is the same everywhere.
What comes after Aries season?
Taurus season, from April 20, 2027. Before Aries season comes Pisces season.
When is Aries season 2028?
From March 20, 2028 at 02:17 UTC to April 19, 2028 at 13:09 UTC.
Is Aries season a good time to start something?
It is a season that favours beginning rather than a guarantee of finishing. Aries is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, so the month tends to make first moves easier to make. Whether that start shows up in work, love or the way you use your own strength depends on where Aries falls in your chart; keeping it going is the part you plan for.
What should you avoid during Aries season?
Starting ten things and tending none. The easy mistake of the season is to spend the spark on every idea at once. Choose one beginning, give it a second and a third day, and the month usually feels bold rather than scattered.
