You read a month by where it lets you move. Mars runs your year like a body that needs a direction, so the sky's shifts land first as a question of what you are allowed to start. In October 2026 the Sun moves through Libra until the 23rd, your 7th house of partnership and the other; from the 23rd it enters Scorpio and turns the light onto depth, shared resources and change. The New Moon on October 10 falls in Libra, your 7th house of partnership and the other; the Full Moon on the 26th falls in Taurus, your 2nd house of money and worth. Venus on the 3rd and Mercury on the 24th turn retrograde in Scorpio, your 8th house of depth, shared resources and change; Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are already retrograde as the month opens. These are the dates. How they land for a Aries, week by week, is what the October edition reads for your sign, yours to keep.

core traits
Aries, read closely
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac: the initiator, the spark, the one who moves before the plan is finished. Ruled by Mars, Aries energy is about action, competition, and the drive to exist on your own terms. The shadow side is impatience and a tendency to confuse speed with progress. The gift is courage: real, unperformed courage that shows up when nobody's watching.
the shadow side
impatience that borders on dismissiveness. starting 47 things and finishing 3. mistaking aggression for assertiveness. burning bridges because walking across them takes too long.

Aries, frequently asked
What dates is Aries season?
The Sun is in Aries from March 20: April 19 in most years. The exact boundary shifts by about a day depending on the year and your time zone, so anyone born on the first or last day of the range should read the Sun sign from a birth chart rather than from a table.
What element and modality is Aries?
Aries is a cardinal fire sign, ruled by Mars. Fire signs run on initiative and heat; cardinal signs open a season and start things. Its polarity is positive (day, outward).
What is the opposite sign of Aries?
Libra. Opposite signs sit 180 degrees apart on the same axis and are two answers to one question, which is why the Aries and Libra pairing feels both familiar and demanding. In a birth chart, planets in Aries and Libra face each other across that axis.
Which house does Aries rule?
Aries is the natural sign of the 1st house, the part of a birth chart about the self, the body and beginnings. In your own chart Aries can sit on any house cusp; your Rising sign decides where, which is why two people with the same Sun sign live it in different rooms of life.
Who is Aries most compatible with?
By Sun sign alone, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini and Aquarius are the classic easy fits for Aries, and Cancer and Capricorn the growth edges. A Sun-sign pairing compares one placement of ten. A real answer compares both full charts, which is what synastry does.
Is being a Aries the same as having a Aries Sun?
Usually that is what people mean: the Sun was in Aries when you were born. Your Moon and Rising sign can be entirely different signs, and they shape how the Aries Sun is lived. Your Big 3, read together, is the picture; the Sun alone is the outline.
Sun-sign answers are the outline. Your free Big 3 reading adds the Moon and Rising; the full birth chart adds every planet, house and aspect.
