You read a month by what it exposes. Mars runs your year through depth and intensity, so the sky's turns arrive as pressure that pulls the real thing up from under the surface arrangement. In October 2026 the Sun moves through Libra until the 23rd, your 12th house of the inner world and what is behind you; from the 23rd it enters Scorpio and turns the light onto self and body. The New Moon on October 10 falls in Libra, your 12th house of the inner world and what is behind you; the Full Moon on the 26th falls in Taurus, your 7th house of partnership and the other. Venus on the 3rd and Mercury on the 24th turn retrograde in Scorpio, your 1st house of self and body; Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are already retrograde as the month opens. These are the dates. How they land for a Scorpio, week by week, is what the October edition reads for your sign, yours to keep.

core traits
Scorpio, read closely
Scorpio is the investigator: the sign that goes where others won't look. Ruled by Mars in the traditional scheme and associated with Pluto in modern practice (power and what's hidden), Scorpio energy is about depth, intensity, and the willingness to confront what everyone else avoids. The 'scary' stereotype is earned but incomplete: Scorpio's intensity comes from a desire for truth, not a desire to destroy. The shadow is control and emotional manipulation. The gift is the ability to see through everything.
the shadow side
possessiveness that suffocates. grudges that outlive the situation. using psychological insight as a weapon. the scorpion sting: destroying what you love because it could hurt you first.

Scorpio, frequently asked
What dates is Scorpio season?
The Sun is in Scorpio from October 23: November 21 in most years. The exact boundary shifts by about a day depending on the year and your time zone, so anyone born on the first or last day of the range should read the Sun sign from a birth chart rather than from a table.
What element and modality is Scorpio?
Scorpio is a fixed water sign, ruled by Mars by tradition, with Pluto as the modern association. Water signs run on feeling and memory; fixed signs hold the middle of a season and sustain things. Its polarity is negative (night, inward).
What is the opposite sign of Scorpio?
Taurus. Opposite signs sit 180 degrees apart on the same axis and are two answers to one question, which is why the Scorpio and Taurus pairing feels both familiar and demanding. In a birth chart, planets in Scorpio and Taurus face each other across that axis.
Which house does Scorpio rule?
Scorpio is the natural sign of the 8th house, the part of a birth chart about intimacy, shared resources and transformation. In your own chart Scorpio can sit on any house cusp; your Rising sign decides where, which is why two people with the same Sun sign live it in different rooms of life.
Who is Scorpio most compatible with?
By Sun sign alone, Cancer, Pisces, Virgo and Capricorn are the classic easy fits for Scorpio, and Leo and Aquarius the growth edges. A Sun-sign pairing compares one placement of ten. A real answer compares both full charts, which is what synastry does.
Is being a Scorpio the same as having a Scorpio Sun?
Usually that is what people mean: the Sun was in Scorpio when you were born. Your Moon and Rising sign can be entirely different signs, and they shape how the Scorpio Sun is lived. Your Big 3, read together, is the picture; the Sun alone is the outline.
Sun-sign answers are the outline. Your free Big 3 reading adds the Moon and Rising; the full birth chart adds every planet, house and aspect.
